Continuing the Legacy of the late Rev. Dr. Ooi Chin Aik

We remember with deep gratitude the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Ooi Chin Aik, who
was called home to the Lord on 27 February 2025. The Board of Directors and the Council of Reference of Ministries for Asia Pacific (MAP) has met in prayerful unity and reached a unanimous decision to carry on the mission and vision that the late Rev. Dr. Ooi faithfully established.

Rev. Dr. Ooi was a true Nehemiah of our generation – one who saw the broken spiritual walls across Asia Pacific and rose to build. His faith was anchored in Romans 8: 37: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

The current leadership team — many of whom had served closely with Rev. Dr. Ooi, including those who partnered with him even before the formation of MAP — remain steadfast in their resolve to continue this ministry. We affirm our collective responsibility to uphold the biblical mandate and to ensure that the vision entrusted to him by God will continue to bear fruit across the nations of Asia Pacific.

As we look forward, this is not the end – it is a New Beginning. MAP Partners
Berhad is now active in 14 countries in Asia; reaching the unreached, discipling believers, and strengthening the Church throughout the region.

Launch of “Revelation: Holy War and Victory”

In launching the late Chin Aik’s final project, a passionate call for action through his book; “Revelation: Holy War and Victory”. We witnessed the launch of the book by Chin Aik’s close friend and partner in ministry, Rev. Dr. Tan Jin Huat. Chin Aik demonstrates how the Book of Revelation serves as a powerful call to action for evangelism, compelling us to share the transformative Gospel message. We thank God for this resource that strengthens and equips the Body of Christ in these times.

Graduation of the Asian Institute of Contemporary Christianity (AICC)

Chin Aik’s gift of teaching and joy of cheering fellow evangelists saw the establishment of Asian Institute of Contemporary Christianity (AICC). The event marked a new beginning for the AICC, in which 18 new graduates— faithful men and women trained to serve and witness for Christ in diverse contexts. Each graduate received their certificate from Rev. Dr. Samuel Ng, Director of MAP.

The words of Jesus in John 20:21 resound: “As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you.”

May you go forth with boldness, carrying the Gospel with love and conviction, assured of the Lord’s presence as He has promised in Joshua 1:9 “The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

MAP would like to thank all our partners for your continued support. Our prayer is that what our late Rev. Dr. Ooi Chin Aik started through MAP will continue to take the gospel to the ends of the earth.

“As I experienced the teaching, the key emphasis was on encouragement and faith—trusting God’s leading and timing as He opens doors. We are reminded to think long term, discern between solo and team ministry, and turn obstacles into opportunities. Above all, God is with us and for us, and effective ministry flows from a clear sense of calling. “

All the lecturers are true pioneers in their approach to evangelism. Their teachings have broadened my understanding of how the Holy Spirit guides each of us—if we are willing to let Him lead. I am deeply humbled and sincerely thankful.

Evangelism Seminar for the Iban Tribe
East Malaysia Anglican Centre (EMAC), Kuala Lumpur | 26 July 2025

We thank God for the opportunity to share His Word and encourage His people! On 26 July 2025, MAP Senior Evangelist, Rev. Albert Tang, conducted a meaningful seminar on “Evangelism” for the Iban tribe at the East Malaysia Anglican Centre.
Around 50 participants attended the one-day seminar, eager to learn how to share the Gospel more effectively and live as witnesses for Christ in their communities.
We give special thanks to the Iban Board of East Malaysia Anglican Centre for organising this seminar and providing a platform for equipping believers to serve God’s mission. The participants were encouraged and challenged to take what they have learned back to their villages and churches, to put evangelism into practice, and to bear lasting fruit for the glory of God.
Let us continue to pray for all participants, that they will boldly practise what they have learned, to share the Gospel faithfully, and bear much fruit for the glory of God.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few.” – Matthew 9:37

A token of appreciation to Rev. Albert Tang by Rev. John Layang, President of Iban Board EMAC

Praise the Lord for the enthusiastic participants, who hunger to learn more on “How to evangelise effectively.”

REAP in Many Many Lands (RMML) Update

MAP continues to prioritize reaching the unreached in Asia through the Rural Evangelists Adoption Programme (REAP)—an initiative focused on bringing the Gospel to remote and rural communities across the region.

Today, with the partnership of about 380 REAP supporters, we rejoice in what God has done through the faithful labour of REAP evangelists and the prayers of believers worldwide. As of October 2025, together we have witnessed:

  • Over 5.14 million people reached with the Gospel
  • Over 244,000 conversions to Christ
  • Over 70,000 baptised
  • Over 2,500 rural churches planted
  • Over 55,800 Bibles distributed to new believers

To God be the glory! We sincerely thank you for your faithful prayers and generous support. Every prayer counts, every gift counts. Let us continue pressing on together to reach even more souls for Christ.

The support for one REAP evangelist, in partnership with a local church, is RM200 per month. On average, each REAP evangelist over a three-year period sees 30–50 conversions and plants at least one new church.

Would you like to take part in this kingdom sowing and harvesting?
