Confirming the Gospel

With Covid-19 pandemic restrictions and economic downturns leading to emotional stress and physical deprivation in terms of basic daily foods, windows of opportunities are wide open to commend the gospel of Christ, His love and compassion through relief and gospel outreach.

We can anticipate a trajectory of increase in stress and distress of gargantuan proportions as predicted by our Lord enroute to His second coming (Mt. 24:21-22). As such the present Covid-19 crisis should serve as a mini-training camp for the big ones ahead in terms of Christian responses to a destitute and suffering world.

In the context of sowing and reaping, Christians are exhorted to sow by doing good to those in need, “for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Gal 6:9). For a time such as this and more so in the days ahead let us buckle up and determine in increased sowing towards the physically and spiritually needy and in so doing, confirm the gospel of the incarnated Christ (Jn 1:14).

Relief and Gospel for Myanmar and India

Covid-19 pandemic plus political instability has grossly impacted Myanmar with many in the poorer sectors of the population being left hungry and destitute. North India was badly affected by the spread of the Covid-19 delta variant with many families losing the bread winner and loved ones.

In response to the Macedonian call from our REAP Myanmar and REAP India evangelists, MAP launched an appeal for help which resulted in over RM136,000 and RM14,000 collected for Myanmar and India respectively. Over 1800 families in Myanmar received basic food supplies for one month together with the gospel, with over 1,000 salvations recorded from over 1800 evangelised thus far. Over 180 families in India received both food supplies and the gospel, and the results are still work in progress.

Praise be to God! Thank you to each one who has contributed to the relief efforts for Myanmar and India and the impactful harvest.

Below are some pictorial reports and a testimony from a REAP Myanmar evangelist:

“The food was donated to 20 refugee families from Rakhine State and 22 refugee families from Karen State. I shared the message of salvation of Jesus Christ with them and they confessed “the Lord Jesus Christ is my Saviour” in their hearts. They are so thankful for the rice bags, egg trays and chick pea bags. May God bless you more.”

Special Appeal for REAP Myanmar Evangelists

We praise God for His grace and goodness that enables MAP to advance His gospel despite the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021.

With your prayers and support we have achieved the following via 452 REAP evangelists in 13 countries of Asia:

Over 5.6 million received the gospel,

Over 188,000 conversions to Christ,

Over 1,800 new rural churches planted, and

52,000 Bibles given to the new converts.

Myanmar is now our 3rd REAP Priority Field after China and Malaysia. The political crisis and Covid-19 pandemic have taken a serious toll on the economics of the country with hundreds of thousands of destitute families.

We want to double our efforts in gospel advance by adding to the present 31 REAP Myanmar evangelists in a very responsive field. Our goal in 2022 is to add another 30 evangelists to reap a rich harvest in Myanmar.

Keen to capture the window of opportunity to win more souls in Myanmar? The support of one REAP Myanmar evangelist is RM200 per month or RM2400 per year.
